Urban Design
Landscaping, public transport and pedestrian facilities were upgraded in some Sydney streets as part of Cross City Tunnel works. This enables public transport to operate more efficiently and make city streets more pleasant for residents, visitors and workers.
William Street Upgrade
- Widen footpaths, pave in granite and landscape
- Change peak hour T2 Transit Lanes to daytime (6am-7pm) T2 Transit Lanes.
Sydney CBD
- New pedestrian bridge across Harbour Street into Darling Harbour with links to Darling Walk.
- New pedestrian link on the western side of Darling Harbour onto the Harris Street viaduct.
- New public area to be created in Day Street.
- Additional lifts and water features to be installed in the Darling Walk area.
Kings Cross
- Realign the Victoria Road/Darlinghurst Road intersection over the Kings Cross Tunnel and pedestrian areas widened, paved in granite and street furniture renewed.
